Introduction to Yoga/Foundations of Yoga, Part I

This series introduces the basic principles and practices of Yoga, and sets the context for further study. Students will develop a clear foundation for asana practice, with an emphasis on proper alignment and body awareness, basic breath training and Yoga meditation.  An outline of Yoga philosophy and an introduction to Patanjali's eight limbed path ground this course. Recommended for beginners.  Offered through Cayuga Community College, 255-1743.

Introduction to Yoga/Foundations of Yoga, Part II

A continuation of Part I.

Level II, Intermediate Yoga

Deepening understanding and application of the tools of Yoga, including asana, pranayama, and meditation, an addition to exploration of applied yoga psychology and philosophy.

Level III, Advanced

For students with a strong personal practice.

Gentle Yoga

Simple stretches, gentle and restorative postures, yogic breathing, meditation and philosophy. This class increases range of motion, energy, and reduces stress. No yoga experience necessary. Perfect for students with physical limitations, women in pregnancy, and seniors.
